The Growth Company is led by Martin Murtagh. It brings together what he has learned across events, marketing, coaching, training and partnerships into one relationship-led approach to commercial growth.

The story

How the business came together.

Martin started out in 1999 in live events and experiential marketing. It was an early lesson in what actually moves people: being in front of the right audience, with something clear to say, and following up properly afterwards.

In 2012 he set up on his own as an independent consultant, working with businesses on marketing, visibility and business development. Over the following years the work widened into coaching, training and helping clients find the partners and markets they needed.

In 2020 that work became The Growth Company. The aim was to bring the pieces together under one roof: the commercial thinking, the people development, the marketing and the relationships. Most businesses need more than one of those at once, and they work better when someone is joining them up.

In 2022 Martin founded The Growth Network, a business community that brings founders, owners and professionals together. It is a separate organisation, and running it keeps our partnership and ecosystem work grounded in practice.

Today the work spans business, education, community, governance and product development. The Growth Company is still led by Martin, and where a project needs other expertise we work with experienced specialists we know and trust.

Beyond client work

Martin's wider roles keep him close to how businesses, learners and communities actually work, and that experience feeds back into everything The Growth Company does.

He holds an MSc in Digital Marketing, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with Distinction, EMCC EIA Practitioner accreditation and a BA Honours in Youth and Community Work.
