Martin Murtagh has been involved in entrepreneurship from a very early age. From organising events and bringing people together, to working with young people, community groups and local businesses, one thing became clear early on.

Long before marketing became the main focus, Martin was already learning how to get people into rooms, build trust, attract sponsors, promote events and create opportunities through relationships. Organising, communicating and connecting people came naturally.
That background in community development, advanced group work, facilitation and event marketing shaped how The Growth Company thinks today.
The realisation

In 2012, Martin lived and worked in Seoul, South Korea. That experience had a major influence on his thinking. He saw how education, community, technology and digital communication could work together in a much more connected way.
It set him on a path towards marketing full time.

For many years, Martin worked as a freelance marketer, supporting businesses with strategy, content, events, campaigns and business development. As the workload grew, so did the need for something more structured.
Then the pandemic changed everything.
Businesses needed more than ad hoc marketing support. They needed clearer messaging, stronger digital foundations, better sales processes, more meaningful relationships and trusted guidance on how to grow in uncertain times.
That is where The Growth Company began to take shape as a dedicated B2B marketing agency.

A Master’s in Digital Media Communication added the strategic and academic foundation. Years of hands-on work with SMEs added the practical edge.
